The Concerned Elders Forum Of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area is an association formed to ensure the growth, development and the progress of the LCDA in its entirety.
However, the association, which is devoid of any political inclination, having observed the recent wave of the socio-political happenings in the LCDA which seems detrimental to the development of the LCDA and also inimical to its progress, have decided not to keep mute any longer but rather speak up and express their views.
Firstly, the political leaders in Mosan-Okunola LCDA, especially in the All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders have in recent times been forcefully organising meetings with all the CDAs, alongside other stakeholders associations in the social and economic sectors of the LCDA.
The major reason for these forceful impromptu meetings is not unconnected with the Lagos State Local Government elections coming up on Saturday, July 22, 2017.
These meetings are being used by the APC Leaders in Mosan-Okunola to pressurise and coerce us into doing their bidding of sensitising our people to cast their votes for their anointed choice of candidate in the person of Mrs OLABISI ADEBAJO (ABISCO), an unpopular choice in the community, against the popular wish of the vast majority of the inhabitants of the LCDA.
Secondly, we implore the APC Leaders in Mosan-Okunola LCDA to henceforth desist from their intention of imposing their anointed choice of candidate on the entire people of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, otherwise there shall be a voters apathy.
This can only be averted if these so called APC Leaders allow for the people's wish.
Lastly, we want to appeal to the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr AKINWUNMI AMBODE as well as the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju BOLA AHMED TINUBU, to as a matter of urgency, step into this critical matter and provide a peaceful and lasting solution to it by allowing the people's wish to prevail.
