2016 Forbes World's Richest: Dangote Drops • 19-year-old Girl Joins List, Becomes World's Youngest Billionaire

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has dropped from 37th position to number 60 in Forbes yearly ranking of the world’s richest people.

The Nigerian business mogul and philanthropist amassed a wealth of $15.4 billion during the period under review as against the $25 billion he had last year to stand as the richest on the continent.

Bill Gates, still tops the world’s richest list for the third consecutive year.

The surprise addition to this year’s list of billionaires is 19-year-old professional horse rider from Norway, Alexandra Andresen, who has become the world's youngest billionaire after amassing a $1.2billion fortune.

According to Forbes, Miss Andresen is the scion of a family that made its fortune from tobacco.
Miss Andresen accumulated her personal fortune after her father Johan F. Andresen transferred his stake in Norway's biggest company, Ferd Holdings, to his two daughters in 2007.

In 1849 her great, great, great grandfather founded what was to become Norway’s leading cigarette producer.

In 2005, the company was sold for $500million and the money then invested into property and hedge funds.
Two years later her father gave 80 per cent of his shares in the company Ferd Holdings to Miss Andresen, 19, and her sister, Katharina, 20.

The sisters made the list this year for the first time as they both now are above 17 and are required to publish their tax returns, meaning their personal fortunes were made public.

Andresen, is ranked 1,476 among the 1,810 richest people on the 2016 Forbes list while her sister, Katharina, is the second youngest billionaire on the list.
