The Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, (NSCIA), on Wednesday, said that suicide bombers are going to hell as no religion preaches taking of human lives.

He stated this when popular musician and peace ambassador Innocent Idibia (2Face) alongside his wife Annie Idibia and Sound Sultan led some Christians and Muslim youths on a courtesy call to him.

The royal father harped on the need for peace, love and respect for one another, stressing: “The common denominator of our problem is hunger. Hunger knows no religion, poverty knows no religion, extremism knows no religion.it is important to keep on preaching until these messages get into our heads and we start doing what is right.”

He said respect for one another was key: “Everybody must respect one another. Forget about the religious sentiments, forget about ethnic sentiments, if you give respect to the other person, he will give you the same and once there is respect there won’t be any problem.”

The religious leader tasked the youths to continue to spread the message of peace with their various talents

Sultan observed that hunger and lack of education were the greatest weapon used by those who manipulate the youths into doing their bidding.

Passengers subdue man from blowing up plane

Heroic Malaysia Airlines passengers tackled a man who tried to storm the cockpit of a plane armed with a “detonator”. Dramatic pictures captured on board flight MH128 show how the man was tied down when he was restrained shortly after the plane took off from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur. The flight returned to Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport less than an hour into the flight before midnight local time (3 p.m. UK time). Witnesses said the man said “I’m going to blow up this plane” as he tried to enter the cockpit before he was taken down by passengers. Saiqa Chaudhery, who claimed her husband Arif was on the plane, alleged the passenger was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and that he attacked a flight attendant. While a woman named Vanessa whose boyfriend Andrew was on the flight told Australian radio station 3AW he was the first to confront him after he intimated cabin crew.
