In a letter written to the National Assembly on Sunday, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his desire to extend his medical leave in London in order to complete his treatment and await the results of his medical tests. The extension of his medical leave was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Femi Adesina, spokesperson to the president. According to Mr. Adesina, the president had planned to return to Abuja on Sunday evening but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice of the extension, he added, has been forwarded to Senate President Bukola Saraki and House Speaker Yakubu Dogara. The statement conveyed President Buhari's gratitude to Nigerians for their kind wishes.
