A 60-year-old man in Ughelli north local government area of Delta state has committed suicide, citing his inability to feed and provide for his immediate family as reasons for his action. The victim, Okporo Arigo, was said to have hung himself on a tree and left a note stating why he took the drastic measure, source reports. Arigo, whose younger brother is a serving councillor at the Ughelli north legislative arm, was discovered in the bush with the suicide note nearby his dangling lifeless body. A member of the Uwheru community executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity on the issue said the suicide left by victim claimed his inability to feed and provide for his immediate family made him end his life. “He claimed to have embarked on the act to put a stop on his inability to take care of his immediate family after his younger brother, who is a serving councillor, abandoned him to his fate,” the source said.
