Image
The name Port Harcourt represents many things to diverse individuals. While to some it is no more than another urban centre in Nigeria, to others, it is the land where ‘milk’ and ‘honey’ flows. The capital of one of the country’s largest oil-producing states, the town fondly dubbed ‘Garden City’ by its teeming admirers, is not only revered by many within and outside it but also regarded as a place where dreams are lived. Housing nationals of different nations drawn into it by its oil wealth, the city is a melting pot of culture, lifestyle and a thriving leisure industry anchored on diverse forms of entertainment. It is one of the few cities that never sleep in Nigeria. While ‘joints’, hotels and spots where women – young and old – in the business of servicing men in need of steamy sex are in abundant supply across the city like in many urban districts around the country, ladies in need of male company in this regard have had to rely on their seductive instincts to either ‘trap’ ...

Image

Okotie said this at his church on Sunday, while declaring interest to contest the 2019 presidential election. He said the time had come for truth and transparency in government, adding that Nigeria cannot succeed as a nation if it does not live by the truth. “Nigeria has become a divided and segregated society like never before,” he said. “The dream of a great Nigeria which flowered at independence, the yearnings and aspirations of the people and the Nigerian brotherhood whose ensign dominated the political horizon at independence have all been consigned to oblivion. “Times like this require the recruitment of patriotic gladiators who must now take up the gauntlet to defend the Nigerian dream. www.swiphtconsult.com.ng “I have re-emerged from my political...

RUSSIA'18 : France wins World Cup with 4-2 victory over Croatia

Image
No team came into this World Cup with more simmering brilliance in its squad than France. With goalscoring talent up and down its lineup, it was a murderer’s row just waiting to be set loose onto the rest of the soccer-playing planet. Les Bleus brought so much talent, in fact, even when they reached the final of this tournament, they were still receiving criticism for not living up to their potential. Because all along their road to Moscow, they dispensed it so sparingly that it was only ever the minimum required to beat their opponents. They rode their luck. They defended deep. And they did just enough. On Sunday, that proved to be enough to win the World Cup. With a tense 4-2 victory over Croatia, after a final that combined moments of individual shine with jaw-dropping fortune, Les Bleus lifted the trophy for the second time in their history, 20 years after the first. ‘My wife was disvirgined right in my presence’ – Man cries out

Image
“I dated my girl for three years without sex. For her, I decided to remain celibate because she wasn’t ready for it. After our Traditional marriage, she still refused and wouldn’t let me touch her at all. We however fixed our wedding date. On my bachelor’s eve, my friends were around with their girlfriends. I really wanted to have my woman to myself that night and I spoke to her about it but she turned me down as usual and begged me to wait a little longer. I agreed after all, we would be married soon. At last D-DAY finally came and I was waiting patiently for the wedding ceremony to be over. At 6pm, we were home relaxing. I called  my wife and asked that we  take a shower together, she said she was shy and cannot come. I didn’t force her. She however had her bath first and I had mine later. When I finished, I came out to meet my wife asleep. I joined her in bed, kissed her and she woke up. I’m not even sure she was really asleep. I started making advances bec...

Jolly Nyame: Story of a Reverend turned Governor turned Prisoner

Image
“…I must say that I am morally outraged by the facts of this case; the people of Taraba State had elected the defendant, a clergyman, on three different occasions; their expectations must have been very high. “How would he begin to explain to the people of Taraba State his actions? How would he explain such a colossal loss to the people?…” The above quote was an extract from the concluding statements in the ruling of an Abuja Federal High court judge, Adebukola Banjoko, on the suit filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against former governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, a reverend. The ex-governor was on Wednesday convicted of misappropriating N1.64 billion from the state’s treasury through shoddy stationery contracts which he awarded at the tail of his eight years administration that ended in 2007. It was one of the longest trials that eventually (started in 2007). The conviction earned the former governor the ill-repute of being the second governor...

"I was disengaged for refusing to investigate Atiku, Saraki" – Uwajeh

Image
A private investigator, Victor Uwajeh, has claimed that he was disengaged from the Special Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, because he refused to probe Senate President, Bukola Saraki and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Uwajeh was appointed to the panel to track stolen funds stashed in the UK in March, but was fired on April 23. The investigator was said to have been disengaged, for failing to disclose a criminal charge pending against him. In a statement on Tuesday, Uwajeh said though the mandate given to him was to track assets of politically exposed persons, he realised that the panel had its agenda. “This was also followed by a memorandum of understanding dated 3rd April 2018 and signed by the Chairman of the Panel Okoi Obono Obla. Subsequent upon these, I started working for the panel to trace assets of politically exposed persons in line with the mandate given to me in the documents executed. “It was the procedure of the P...

It’s legal to marry in Ikoyi registry, FG counters (MUST READ)

Image
The Federal Government has faulted claims by the Lagos State Government that a Federal High Court had shut down the Ikoyi marriage registry, insisting that the report was false. The Ministry of Interior said that the court, presided over by Justice Chuka Obiozor, simply upheld the judgment of a Federal High Court delivered in 2002, which was not appealed. It explained that the case, Suit No: FHC/L/CS/1760/16, between Egor Local Government Area, Edo State and three others Vs. Ministry of Interior & others, cited by the Lagos State Government, was actually struck out by Justice Obiozor in his judgment delivered on April 30, 2018. The Director of Legal, Ministry of Interior, Bola Odugbesan, made the clarification in a statement in Abuja on Friday, in reaction to a press statement on Thursday by the Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Bisi Olufuwa. Olufuwa had claimed that Lagos State had secured a court injunction restraining the...
